deutscher Schriftsteller, * 1735, &dagger; 1787, Theologe und Professor am Gymnasium in Weimar. Von seinen Schriften am bekanntesten: "Volksmärchen der Deutschen". Er wurde 1776 in die Loge "Amalia" in Weimar aufgenommen. In seinen Werken ein Totentanz "Freund Heins Erscheinungen in Holbeins Manier", mit 24 Vignetten von Schellenberg, darunter ein Abschnitt: "Der Tod als Freimaurer", die begleitende Vignette ist von besonderem historischen Wert, da sie Einblick in die Einrichtung einer alten Freimaurerloge gibt, die um einen Hufeisentisch versammelt sitzt, während auf dem Fußboden in Kreidezeichnung der [[Tapis]] zu sehen ist. <br />
