Oktober 1891 in Bayreuth) war ein deutscher Bankier, Reichstagsabgeordneter und bedeutender Förderer der Bayreuther Festspiele.<br /> <br /> <br /> == Leben ==<br /> <br /> Feustel war als Kandidat der Nationalliberalen Partei von 1877 bis zu seinem Tode Mitglied des Reichstags, wo er als Abgeordneter den Wahlkreis Oberfranken 2 (Bayreuth) vertrat.<br /> <br /> Als Richard Wagner 1871 konkrete Pläne hinsichtlich seiner Bühnenfestspiele in Bayreuth machte, kannten er und seine Frau Cosima in Bayreuth keine der maßgeblichen Persönlichkeiten. In dieser Situation wandte sich Wagner im November 1871 brieflich an Feustel, auf den ihn seine Schwester Ottilie Brockhaus aufmerksam gemacht hatte. Die hierdurch begründete Freundschaft beider Männer dauerte bis zum Tode Wagners 1883 an.<br /> <br /> Feustel, der auch seit 1843 in der Bayreuther Freimaurerloge [[Eleusis zur Verschwiegenheit]] eine bedeutende Rolle spielte und 1891 nobilitiert wurde, unterstützte die Festspiel-Idee sowohl finanziell als auch gesellschaftlich. Sein Schwiegersohn Adolf von Groß wurde jahrelang der Finanzverwalter der Festspiele. Nach Feustels Tod wurde Leopold von Casselmann 1891 sein Nachfolger als Reichstagsabgeordneter.</div>
