Anlass war die Stiftung einer Sammlung, vorwiegend freimaurerischer Graphik und illustrierter Bücher, durch den hannoverschen Ingenieur Erich J. Lindner,der Mitglied der <br /> Loge [[Zur Ceder]] war.<br /> <br /> == Zweck und Ziel des Bibliotheksvereins ==<br /> <br /> Der satzungsgemäße Zweck des Bibliotheksvereins ist der Ausbau und die Fortführung der an der Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Bibliothek bestehenden Freimaurer-Sammlung.<br /> <br /> Ziel des Freimaurerischen Bibliotheksvereins ist, durch Zukäufe die bestehende Sammlung zu erweitern, zu ergänzen und noch bestehende Lücken zu schließen.<br /> <br /> == Bestand ==<br /> <br /> Der heutiger Bestand lässt sich mit ca. 4000 Bänden beziffern und setzt sich zusammen aus <br /> <br /> *den Graphiken und illustrierten Büchern der Stiftung von Erich J. Lindner, <br /> *den antiquarischen Erwerbungen des FMBV in den letzten 35 Jahren, <br /> *den durch die Bibliothek angekauften Neuerscheinungen des In-und Auslandes.<br /> <br /> Weitere Bestände gelangten durch die teilweise Überlassung von Logen-Bibliotheken, sowie zahlreiche Schenkungen in die Sammlung.<br /> <br /> == Finanzierung ==<br /> <br /> Die Finanzierung erfolgt durch die Mitgliedsbeiträge und durch Spenden.<br /> Die Webseite bietet neben Informationen zu Vorstand und Satzung auch Informationen zur Mitgliedschaft. Der jährliche Beitrag beträgt z.Z. 25,-Euro.
