They bear many of the early symbols of Freemasonry and the Motto frequently used within the Fraternity "SIT LUX ET LUX FUIT" and also sometimes written, Lux fiat et Lux fit, signifying Let there be light, and there was light (Genesis i, 3).

			This Cornish Ware was risen from the Parish of St Stephens from the hands of the Right Hon Visct Falmouth, occupied by Mess Warick & Co, China Merchants, Plymouth

			EXPLANATION:

			Exhibited on the night of August 12 in honour of His Royal Highness, Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall, by illuminations on a large scale transparent painting on Emblematical representation of the Prince Wales Dukedom as in this device where you see Britannia with the motto One & All underneath signifying the Loyalty of the County of Cornwall, the jovial Miner drinking success to our Duke, Stannaries, Tin, Fish and Copper , the Plume of Feathers, Masonic signs Emblematical of Free Masonry, of which his Royal Highness is Grand Master; a ship lying off the Lizard Expressive of Trade, Commerce &c, Cornish Arms, viz Gold on Sable and everything appertaining to the Duchy.
